I'm on a spiritual journey to sing something that cracks open my heart, to express a worship of what is higher than all I can see, to connect to something greater and beyond. Having lived in NYC for ten years and working as a session singer, I felt the call to return home to Egypt. I lived the childhood of an immigrant kid in an Egyptian family in the USA and something in me was longing to connect to my roots and to stay there finally.
Now having been in Egypt for 7 years, I have taken many trips to the desert towns of Egypt and in that silence and mystery I have written many meditations and prayers in my journals. I am now working on a new project called A Thousand Stars which aims to express these words musically. I use all of who I am. My past and my present. All the pieces of my story contribute to the musical expression I now make.
In the lead up to the album, I'm releasing a couple of my previous recordings with Smod Records Idol in April 2024 and Machine in June 2024.
